On Friday, April 22, 2011 HVWFD firefighters responded along with the Ashaway and Bradford Fire Departments to 256 Woodville Road for a brush fire in a lightly wooded area. Ashaway Ambulance stood by as fire fighters began to control the brush fire. Within a half an hour the brush fire was surrounded and work began to put the fire out. Firefighters stayed on scene while small piles of leaves continued to smolder. Due to windy conditions, the estimated size of the brush fire was roughly 3 to 5 acres.
