Greetings Fellow Firefighters,
I am writing to you asking for a huge favor. My name is Anna Kegley and am the wife of a firefighter in the small community of Iron River in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
I am on a mission to make a young mans day a little brighter. Our Fire Chiefs 14 year old son Jacob is in a childrens hospital in Minnesota fighting leukemia for the second time. He is set to have a bone marrow transplant soon but will spend a couple of months in the hospital. Jacob is a true staple of strength at our department. He absolutley loves firefighters so we are hoping you can help us out a little by dropping him a small note of encouragement and if possible maybe add a small token from your department..whether it be a shirt,(adult lg) picture, patch or just a note is fine too. We are just trying to help him add a few smile to his day and getting some support from other departments would be a thrill for him.
If you could help us out I would greatly appreciate it and I know he and his family would too. He has a caringbridge site if you would like to check it out! Also please feel free to share this with other departments! Thank you for your help, stay safe and God Bless.....Anna Kegley

If you are receiving this for a second time I apologize, I had some technical difficulties!

Just thought that you would find it interesting that I now own the ford c-series that you have pictured in your historical gallery. I look forward to restoring but in the meantime we are watching our kids enjoy sitting behind the wheel pretending to drive it.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions about it or if you would like to see pictures.
Thanks,

Thank you for your quick response 3/30 during the flood to check our carbon monoxide levels when our detector had high readings after our furnace became emersed in flood water. It gave us peace of mind! Thank you to the two people who responded and had to wade through 17 inches of ice cold water to help us out! We sincerely appreciate your help!
Great job with the site, great people to work with at any and all incidents!

Nice web site. Congratulations to all of the award winners at your annual banquet. It is nice to see old friends be recognized for their volunteer efforts in the community. Congrats to Chief Stanley on your 45 years of service. I remember standing in the old station as a winner of your poster contest for fire prevention week, (a FEW years back) when I was in elementary school. Keep up the good work.

NICE SITE ! - Good to see Freddy is still Chief and a few of my old friends are line officers. I started my life as a firefighter with HVFD in 1981 as a junior member and in 1984 I became a regular member and then rose to the rank of Captain. I had a lot of friends and good times while serving. I must say with what I learned as a "Young Buck" in Hope Valley set the stage for where I am today. Glad to see all is well and that you have some nice equipment to work with. Stay Safe !

Glad to see that Chief Freddy Stanley is still running the show. I joined when i was 16 years old that year Freedy was electied Chief and the Department grew from that point, new truck, better equipment and great leadership. I left in 1969 to enter the Navy as the Vet-Nam war was elevating. I joined the local fire department in Milton, Florida and because of Chief Stanley leadership and being a mentor to me, I was elected Vol. Fire Chief in 1971. Its was always exciting and to me benefiting the community I lived in to Volunteer when i could.
Thanks Chief Stanley
