HVWFD Responds to First Due House Fire

Just after 8:00 PM Saturday night Hope Valley, Ashaway and Carolina Fire Departments were dispatched to a possible structure fire at 844 Main St. Car 902 arrived on scene and confirmed a working structure fire. Engine 912 arrived as the first due engine deploying 2 attack lines, followed closely by Ladder 911 and Engines 414 & 611. An interior attack was made until the second floor started to collapse. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes, but overhaul kept companies on scene until just after 11:00 PM.

Companies from Hope Valley, Ashaway, Carolina, Charlestown,, Exeter and North Stonington were called in.
