Request For Proposal (RRP)

The Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire District is requesting proposals for a used truck with a custom built box to be installed on the chassis. The truck will be used as a Hazardous Response Vehicle for the Hope Valley Wyoming - Fire District’s Regional Haz-Mat team. The requirements for the truck and box are set forth within this RFP, along with our bid requirements. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 401-539-2229.

1. Truck Requirements
a. Truck age: 2011 thru 2014
b. Mileage: Under 250,00 Miles
c. GVW: 30,000lbs to 35,000lbs
d. Max Height: eleven feet six inches (11’6”)
e. Length: Maximum not to exceed forty feet (40’)
f. 1 year powertrain warranty
g. Automatic transmission preferred
h. The truck must be in sound mechanical condition with a current RI DMV inspection sticker.
i. All tires must have at least a Fifty percent (50%) service/wear life left with no signs of damage.

2. Box Requirements
a. Length: Twenty Eight Feet (28’)
b. Maximum Height: Must not exceed total vehicle height of eleven feet six inches (11’6”)
c. Standard rear roll up door
d. Powered Lift Gate capable of lifting a minimum of 2500lbs
e. Side entry door located 5’ on from front of box on passenger side,
f. Interior wall located 10 feet from front of box
g. Front room should be insulated and finished with fiberglass reinforced board (FRP) on the walls and ceilings.
h. The box should come with a minimum 1 year warranty to include but not limited to the roof, doors and overall construction

3. Bid Requirements
a. All bids must be mailed or dropped off to Hope Valley Wyoming-Fire District - 996 Main Street Hope Valley, RI 02832.
b. All Bids must be received by 12:00am on February 10, 2017.
c. Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire District reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
d. Bid acceptance will not necessarily be awarded to lowest bidder; product quality, durability, truck mileage/age, will be considered when selecting the winning bid.
e. The winning bidder must provide the truck and mounted box within 6 months of beginning awarded the bid.
